Yes, ISO 9001 certification is valid for a period of three years. The first audit is referred to as the certification audit. The next two audits are referred to as surveillance audit one and surveillance audit two. In each of the surveillance audits the auditor will take one-half of the system and audit that half with more scrutiny. After this three-year cycle, your organization must undergo a recertification audit to maintain your certification and the process begins again.
